A Christian View of Presidential Elections

(by David Salch, adapted for this article)

1. The office of President is the weakest of all government offices, according to the Founding Fathers.

2. No one individual vote can mathematically determine a winner.

3. As Christians, we are called to do what is right regardless of the consequences.

4. As Christians, we are called to act in faith, trusting God to lead; we simply follow Scriptural principles.

5. Everything of life is in Scripture, even politics.

6. God ordains all those in authority, no exceptions.

7. God blesses a land only when the people called by His name do what is right according to Scripture, regardless of the consequences.

8. We are warned over and over in Scripture to never rely on our own ways, never settle, never compromise, always stand for righteousness as the light of the world.

There are plenty of choices. God will hold each of us individually accountable for how we choose.
